Day Three: How our Language Affects Our Clients
How our Language Affects Our Clients

This day will focus on the use of language with clients. During the day we will discover the impact of the words that we use with our clients, and learn to listen in a new way to the words our clients use. We will discover some of the secret messages that words reveal, the "music behind the words". We will explore some of the different ways that people process their experiences of the world. We will learn about relaxation, and more about visualisation.

Since NLP is a practical, solution-orientated, way of working which explores how to do things, this will be an experiential workshop. It may be taken as part of a series, or independently. This day offers the participant more details about some NLP concepts & tools. Expect lots of exercises and opportunities for practice. No previous experience of NLP is necessary.

Topics will include:
· Language, what we assume, and what we presuppose when we talk to clients.
· Intentional use of presuppositions.
· The three main ways of processing and storing memories (visual, auditory and kinaesthetic).
· Setting clear goals, how to help clients set goals that they CAN achieve.
· Discovering how we can set goals that we NEVER achieve - so you and your clients can avoid falling into those traps.
· An introduction to Milton Model language: using language effectively to help the client relax, and whilst relaxed to make changes.
