Therapists Day Two : Overcoming Limiting Beliefs |
| Overcoming
Limiting Beliefs This workshop is designed for counsellors and psychosexual therapists who wish to expand their knowledge of NLP. We will spend the day exploring beliefs, and learning to see situations from different perspectives. A belief is a generalisation. Things happen to us in life, and we use these experiences to form beliefs about how the world is. One person may decide 'the world is a safe place', whilst another may think 'the world is dangerous'. These beliefs affect what we notice in the world, as we find reinforcing evidence to confirm our beliefs. This makes our life experiences very different. During this workshop we will explore the nature of beliefs, what they are and how they work. We will discuss beliefs that serve us well, and those that limit us or hold us back The day will culminate with a very powerful exercise designed by Robert Dilts (one of the originators of NLP). The process works by exploring the cluster of limiting beliefs that may be holding a person back, and then utilising the persons' own resources to release, resolve or change the limitation. This process can enable people to make significant changes in their lives. The day will be experiential. Participants will have an opportunity to work through an issue from their own lives. Having a personal experience of this process will then give them a valuable tool to use with clients. Who should attend: This seminar is designed for counsellors, psychotherapists, psychosexual counsellors, and those in related fields, such as nurses, occupational therapists, social care professionals, and health promotion specialists. |
