Introduction to Working with Couples: What the course will cover

These courses are designed for counsellors and therapists who usually work with individuals, and want to explore more about working with couples.

• Decentring: a method for working with couples
• How to start the couple communicating
• How to help the couple negotiate
• Framework for understanding relationships dynamics
• Patterns of intimacy
• Life stages
• Dealing with sexual issues such as
  • erectile dysfunction,
  • premature ejaculation,
  • loss of desire, and
  • vaginismus.

USUAL TIMINGS - Day 1 arrive from 9.30 for coffee, start at 10 - 5.15 at the latest (we'll finish between 5 and 5.15), Day 2 9.30 - 5.00

WHO IS JULIET GRAYSON

Juliet Grayson is a psychosexual therapist. She also offers training for the corporate world, and so is used to running training courses. She trained originally in integrative counselling (1991 - 1994), then did extensive training in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming, becoming a Master Practitioner several times over). She then went on to train as a couple and sexual therapist for two years at the Maudsley in London (under Dr Michael Crowe), using a behavioural-systemic method, and has most recently qualified as a therapist in Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor (Jan 2004) . Her private practice is based in Chepstow. She has been specialising as a relationship and sex therapist for some 9 years, and has extensive experience in this field. She is UKCP registered with two bodies (being accredited by British Association of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (BASRT), and also the Neuro-Linguistic Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (NLPtCA)). She is a recognised supervisor both for BASRT and NLPtCA. She loves working with couples. She has put on many courses for psychosexual therapists, to teach them about NLP, some privately and some organised by BASRT. She is now enjoying helping therapists who usually work one to one, to explore the intricacies and challenges of working with couples.
