| Surviving Stress: How to
Recognise and Deal with Stress Stress affects everyone, from senior executive level through to the factory worker. In Britain, 90 million working days are lost through stress each year. It affects everyone, housewives, employed staff, and the self employed. Training ourselves to deal with stress offers significant benefits to the all those involved, ourselves, our family and colleagues at work. This one day course is designed to give delegates a way of understanding stress, an awareness of the causes, and some practical ways of recognising and dealing with the symptoms, and an opportunity to practice managing their own stress more effectively. We will examine the nature of the human stress response, explore the cumulative effects of stress, and learn to recognise our own personal triggers and early warning signals. We will also explore tools and techniques for managing stress including relaxation, breathing, visualisation, physical de-stressing, energising techniques, diet, stress mapping, and self-coaching. When you attend this course you will: * understand the nature of stress, and the long term effects. * examine underlying beliefs and attitudes that can lead to stress. * identify causes of stress (environmental, physical, organisational and personal). * learn to recognise signs and symptoms of stress in yourself and others. * discover natural ways of dealing with stress. * consider alternative thinking strategies for meeting challenges more effectively. * adopt a range of natural self help tools and techniques for managing stress. * recognise and realign priorities in your life. * leave feeling more relaxed, and with a positive approach to steps you can take to manage your own stress. |
